Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2016 accepting entries

Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2016 open for entries
Last year’s winner — A Tale of Two Foxes by Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2015, Don Gutoski of Canada.

Arguably the world’s most prestigious wildlife photography competition — the Wildlife Photographer of the Year is now open for entries for its 52nd year.

Owned and organised by the British Natural History Museum, the competition is open to amateur and professional photographers around the world, and the entries it attracts each year represent a global showcase of some of the best wildlife photography on the planet.

The adult competition spans 16 categories (click on the link for full details, competition rules, etc.) across the 5 main themes of Earth Diversity, Earth’s Environment, Earth’s Design, Documentary and Portfolio. Adults can submit up to 25 images for the per-photographer entry fee of £30.

There’s also a “Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year” competition, where under 18s can submit up to 10 images for free in their respective age categories (10 and under, 11-14 and 15-17).

Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year

The entry window for 2016 closes on Thursday 25 February, so start sorting through your collection for your best wildlife images, and let’s see if we can get some Irish wildlife and/or Irish wildlife photographers on the 2016 Wildlife Photographer of the Year short-list.

Check out all the details and submit your entries via the Wildlife Photographer of the Year website. Just don’t miss the deadline!
